#45friday (Blind Alley, 1972)

This week's RIDDIM & GROOVE classic tune is: "Blind Alley" (1972) by The Emotions. Although this female vocal soul-sister trio from Chicao, IL had its biggest commercial success after signing with Columbia records in the mid-1970's, they were originally part of the Stax family and released most of their tunes on the subsidiary Volt. Under the wings of musical geniuses like Isaac Hayes and David Porter, "Blind Alley" is actually a b-side of the main tune "My Honey and Me". It is not only a dope song itself but also famous for its introductory break which was sampled - and made famous - by Big Daddy Kane for his 1988 hit "Ain't No Half Steppin'". Enjoy this RIDDIM & GROOVE classic!
